McGrady's Irish Pub was founded in 2006 by Lehigh University graduates Scott Roth and JD Pfile. Scott got his experience running their favorite college pub in Bethelehem, PA, named J.P. MacGrady's and upon finding their diamond in the rough (what used to be Sharky's Bar and Grill) on Grady avenue in Charlottesville, it became a no-brainer to keep the variation of the name of their favorite college hang out. Thus, McGrady's was formed. After meeting the woman of his dreams, JD moved on to bigger and better things in 2009 and the pub is currently run by Scott, his wife Kristin, and occasionally their toddler, Evan.
"We have been so fortunate to be a part of Charlottesville for the past 6 years. Our customers are second to none and while I couldn't have made it this long without my dedicated and hard working staff, it has truly been our community that has helped McGrady's become the neighborhood bar. To all of you who love beer, cheese steaks, and the occasional 'cheese fries and fried macaroni and cheese for lunch' days, we THANK YOU! Cheers."
